About Us
Grabill, Indiana began as a Mennonite community, which had its roots in the Anabaptist movement after Luther’s European Reformation. This area is the home of Allen County’s Amish settlement, the first arriving in the 1852. Grabill, Indiana flourishes with family owned woodworking shops and large furniture and cabinet shops, providing high quality wood products throughout the country. Due to this rich history, the Grabill name is known for generations of craftsmanship and their fine woodworking skills.
In keeping with the Grabill tradition, Greg Grabill developed his eye for woodworking from his father. Jerry Grabill was a woodworking hobbyist who made furniture and clocks from his basement workshop. As a young man, Greg’s designs were inspired by the Shakers, George Nakashima and James Krenov. Greg made hand turned wooden bowls and tables as gifts for friends and family and soon exhibited commissioned furniture pieces through the Michigan Woodworkers Guild.
