Traditional Hinged - Wood Doors


Grabill traditional hinged doors come standard with blind mortise and tenon joinery, and are built for in-swing or out-swing operation. Solid wood panels can be raised, flat, book matched or “v-grooved” tongue and groove panels. The door jambs can be solid or laminated and engineered for larger doors. Full mortise locks or European multi-point lock systems with custom levers and trims are available. Our traditional hinged doors are also available in aluminum clad or bronze clad.


Wood

Wood species are project specified. Grabill uses Smartwood FSC certified Genuine Mahogany and Eucalyptus and sustainable lumber when ever possible. Engineered Douglas Fir laminated cores are also FSC certified with low *VOC emissions. All of our lumber is kiln dried to a moisture content of 6-8% at the time of fabrication.

Glass

At Grabill, we can match any profile and offer high performance glass options to meet all your needs with concentration on energy efficiency. Glass can be tempered, laminated, reflective, obscured or as specified. Sound reduction, high wind, avalanche, and security glazing are all options We also use the latest technology for our insulated glass spacer bars to insure minimal heat transfer and dramatically reduce condensation.

Many of our windows are NFRC certified with most glass ratings having low U-Value and Shading Co-Efficient to meet Energy Star 2010 criteria.

True divided lites are our standard and can come with custom profiles in any configuration for single glazed or insulated glass panels. Simulated divided lites as required. Color spacer bar and narrow site line options.

Art Glass Studio
Grabill’s in-house art glass studio allows us to create custom designs and traditional craftsmanship, on windows, doors, and focal points. We provide authentic reproduction and custom leaded art glass along with our antique glass window restoration service. Authentic light and heavy restoration glass options are available. We can provide diamond and square leaded glass panels that stand alone or can set on the interior/exterior side of an insulated glass panel. Grabill also supports local businesses and reduces shipping emissions by purchasing recycled glass materials and Spectrum sealant within 500 miles of our manufacturing location.

Hardware

Grabill offers traditional mortise locks or multi point locking systems for added security and stability for oversized doors.

Premium hardware is essential. Stainless steel and architectural bronze hardware are standard with specified finish options including satin nickel and oil rubbed bronze. Architectural hardware selections include AGB, Hoppe, G-U, Bronze Craft, FFI or as specified. All our hardware carries a lifetime warranty.

Our use of stainless steel components offers high resistance to corrosion even in coastal environments.

Finish

Wood finishes can be primed only, painted or stained to your specifications with samples provided for final approval. Custom rustic and aged antique finishes are also an option.

Grabill uses low *VOC emission paint products, when ever possible, which contain little or no toxins that pollute indoor air, and are water or latex based to decrease hazardous fumes and waste.

Most of our projects are completely finished in house prior to shipping. For painted products Grabill recommends a final paint coat after installation is complete to comply with Grabill Warranty.

*Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are organic chemical compounds that have high enough vapor presser under normal conditions to significantly vaporize and enter the atmosphere.

Screen / Storm

Screen frames are fabricated from solid wood with various finish options.

Screen cloth is available in fiberglass, aluminum or bronze wire mesh. Grabill is pleased to include GORE™ inLighten™ a window screen made with an ultra-fine material that makes it appear virtually invisible, bringing the outside in with a clearer view, better light and better ventilation.
